Serravalle Scrivia is a municipality in the province of Alessandria, nestled between the Ligurian Apennines and the plains. It’s long been known for the Serravalle Designer Outlet, a 51,500-square-metre shopping complex brimming with shops and restaurants.

Opened in the early 2000s by British company McArthur Glen, the developer behind the shopping centre, Serravalle Designer Outlet has expanded over time and now boasts 230 shops and several restaurants, making it Europe’s largest shopping destination for premium brands. The complex continued to grow thanks to the Prada group, which partnered with McArthur Glen to develop two further adjacent shopping areas: Serravalle Retail Park and Serravalle Shopping Centre, home to the Iper supermarket.

The Serravalle Designer Outlet shops are simple yet beautifully finished, inspired by Ligurian and Piedmontese architecture and lined with tree-lined avenues. Here you’ll find an extensive range of the world’s most famous designers at discounted prices compared to retail shops. Beyond well-known Italian and international brands like Gucci, Versace, Balenciaga, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani and Prada, you’ll also find major sportswear and leisure brands such as Converse, Nike, Adidas and The North Face, plus home and interior design items.

There’s no shortage of restaurants, bars and eateries where you can grab a bite or enjoy a quality drink: between shopping sprees, treat yourself to an excellent coffee at Starbucks, delicious pancakes at California Bakery or gelato at Grom. Serravalle Designer Outlet boasts not only an extensive range of shops and products but also the added advantage of being easily accessible from Milan (around 70 minutes), Genoa (45 minutes) and Turin (less than 90 minutes).

Getting to Serravalle Designer Outlet

Serravalle Designer Outlet is easily accessible from Milan by both car and daily shuttle service. From Lombardy’s capital, you can **drive** there via the A7 motorway, exiting at Serravalle and then taking Strada Provinciale, formerly the SS35bis dei Giovi/SS35 state road, to your destination. There’s ample free parking on site and charging points for electric vehicles.

Alternatively, there’s a shuttle service run by Serravalle Outlet in partnership with Zani Viaggi and Autostradale Viaggi, departing from various points across Milan and reaching the shopping complex in under two hours. The shuttle service operates several routes with stops at strategic locations throughout the city, including Central Station, the Duomo, La Scala Theatre, Largo Cairoli and Corso Buenos Aires.
