Museo Leonardo3 – The World of Leonardo is an attraction located in Piazza della Scala, beneath the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, just a short walk from the Duomo. What began in 2013 as a temporary exhibition designed to introduce Leonardo da Vinci to the general public was subsequently extended and has now become a permanent museum.
This is a unique venue worldwide, as it offers the opportunity to admire and explore Leonardo’s studies, his research, manuscripts and reconstructions of his works. The Leonardo3 Museum is also an institutional member of ICOM (International Council of Museums).
The World of Leonardo is a museum suited to visitors of all ages, as it offers various routes through which to discover the genius and talent of the great Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519). Leonardo was a Renaissance scientist, inventor and Italian artist widely regarded as one of humanity’s greatest talents. Within the museum, you can follow a path that allows you to learn not only about this remarkable man’s history but also to admire rare reconstructions of many of his machines and restorations of his paintings.
Here, you’ll find interactive 3D reconstructions of over 200 machines on display: from the Mechanical Eagle to the Time Machine, from the Great Kite to the Swift Crossbow. The route continues with a room dedicated to immersive experiences and an area reserved for interactive entertainment for younger visitors.
The museum also hosts a room exhibiting the musical instruments studied by the artist and one dedicated to the Sforza Monument. One of Leonardo’s most significant commissions was indeed the equestrian monument to Francesco Sforza, the father of Ludovico il Moro, which was never realised. Finally, the museum’s last section is devoted to the digital restoration of the Last Supper.

Admission to Museo Leonardo3 is free when you purchase the Milan Pass, Milan’s city card, which guarantees free entry to the city’s principal museums, including tickets to La Scala and the Duomo. Valid for 48 hours, it also includes public transport and numerous activities and discounts at participating businesses.
Museo Leonardo3 – The World of Leonardo is open every day from 10:00 to 18:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:30 to 20:00.

Museo Leonardo3 is located in Piazza della Scala at the entrance to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
The museum is easily accessible by public transport. Those travelling by Metro can take the MM1 (Red Line) to Duomo station or the MM3 (Yellow Line) to Monte Napoleone station. From Piazza Duomo, the museum is a pleasant short walk away.
The area is also served by Tram lines No. 1 and No. 2, with the nearest stop being via Manzoni – Piazza della Scala. Those travelling by bus can take Line 61 to the via Verdi/via dell’Orso stop.
If you choose to reach the museum by car, all Leonardo3 – The World of Leonardo visitors can take advantage of a discounted rate at the affiliated car park Piazza Meda.
